The most common hearing aid style in the world. BTE hearing aids are placed outside the outer ear, behind the ear, and attached to a plastic earmold that fits inside the ear. The electronic parts are stored in the case behind the ear. Sound travels from the hearing aid through the earmold and into the ear.
